After a dull game at Turf Moor, which saw Tottenham clinch a one-nil win, Spurs manager Jose Mourinho was full of praise for opposition manager Sean Dyche, who “gave us what [we were] expecting, a very difficult match.”

The praise didn’t stop there, however, with Mourinho hailing referee Michael Oliver as “very very good”, recognising Harry Kane’s match altering headed clearance from the goal-line as an “amazing goal for us in our box”, and even giving credit to former boss Mauricio Pochettino for the “understanding [between Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son] that comes from Mauricio’s time.”

Despite conceding what he described as a “soft set piece by our standards”, Burnley manager Sean Dyche was optimistic after the game, stating that his team had “played so well.”

He went on to express his happiness at his team saying they “looked fit and strong” amid recent injury and fitness troubles, and finished with the resolute belief that “when we play like that over a season, we win games and get points on the board.”

While Dyche will take hope from Burnley’s performance into their next game against Chelsea, Mourinho will hope to recapture Spurs’ scintillating attacking form ahead of their Europa League clash with Antwerp.
