This could be a tricky fixture for winless West Bromwich Albion against an inform Tottenham Hotspur who have only lost once in their last 13 games.
The latter are the second-highest scorers in the League and are facing a team that concedes the second most. On paper it should be a comfortable win for the visitors, however, if there is one thing the Premier League has shown this season, it is unpredictability.

- Gareth Bale starts his first Premier League game since 2013. He was the match-winner last time he faced West Brom in February of that year.
- West Brom make four changes since their previous game, while Tottenham make five.

3′ Callum Robinson strikes the first shot of the game, but it lands right in the hands of Hugo Lloris.
7′ Matt Doherty gets the first corner of the game, but it ends in nothing.
13′ What an opportunity! Harry Kane runs off the left, passes it to Tanguy Ndombele in the middle, who then finds Heung-min Son but the South-Korean takes too long to get a shot off as it’s blocked by the defender. Chance missed for the Premier League’s joint top-scorer.
18′ Darrell Furlong hits a beautiful cross from the right but Karlan Grant cannot get a solid header on it. Big opportunity missed from West Brom.
20′ Ndombele gets hit by Sam Gallagher and holds his head, the Spurs bench are furious but the referee is not listening. The Frenchman seems to be fine.
West Brom have looked solid defensively so far with their back three/five. Tottenham have not been effective with their possession and have lacked creativity. However, the Londoners have had the biggest chance yet. The tempo overall has been relatively slow thus far.
25′ Robinson hit a cross right at the touchline inside the penalty area, and it almost goes in for a goal, but Eric Dier heads it away from the line. That was close.
West Brom are looking the better side so far. Bar the one chance from Son, Spurs have created nothing. The last time the hosts won a game in the Premier League was May 2018. Against who you might ask? Tottenham Hotspur. Captain Jake Livermore was the match-winner then.
44′ Semi Ajayi with a fairly dangerous tackle on Kane, gets the first yellow card of this game. Surely not extremely far from being shown a card with a different colour.

Not the most exciting first half you will ever see, but encouraging if you are a West Brom fan. They have looked very solid defensively and created a few chances as well. Jose Mourinho must motivate his players more and do something tactically because they have looked flat. Bale has been invisible in first start of the season – the front trio of him, Kane and Son have been ineffective.

47′ Decent chance from O’Shea from a corner, but he heads it wide of Lloris’ posts.
50′ Kane hits a cross to Bale but it is just out of reach for the Welshman. His first real involvement of the game.
53′ After being out injured O’Shea collides with Bale and lands awkwardly. He holds his ankle and medical comes in, but they declare him ok to continue.
59′ Reguilon strikes twice outside the box after getting a rebound. His first hit is right at the goalkeeper while the second goes over. It is proven to be Spurs’ first shot on target after Son’s first-half chance did not count.
For a squad that has not won a League game in 11 games, conceded 16 goals in seven games this season, and had Slaven Bilic admitted of being ”worried” after the loss against Fulham, it has to be encouraging to see the team going toe to toe against one of the top sides.
67′ Huuuge chance for the visitors. Reguilon gets a shot off in a great position but it is blocked by a West Brom defender. Giovani Lo Celso’s rebound shot goes wide from the six-yard line.
69′ Gallagher strikes from outside the box, Lloris does not move and it goes just wide, clipping the post.
71′ The seventh corner from the hosts finally leads to a great chance and had Lloris forced into making a good save from a near-post header by Furlong. Grant’s rebound goes wide.
74′ Free-kick in a great position for Kane but the shot hits the wall, and the rebound goes wide. Premier League’s current assist king has to wait a little longer for his 150th goal in the competition.
82‘ Toby Alderweireld heads right at Sam Johnstone after a corner from Son.

83′ Carlos Vinicius fires a good low shot on target with his left-foot but Johnstone saves.

Doherty hits an absolutely beautiful cross to Kane who heads it right over Johnstone and in! Devastating for West Brom, they have been so close in this game. Looked so stable defensively and still concedes a late goal. Tottenham have not been good, but that does not matter for Kane who scores his seventh of the season and is now at 15 goal-contributions overall in the League!

Tottenham are now top of the table! Far from their best performance today, but they still scrap a win in classic Mourinho fashion. That is their fourth consecutive away win in the League which is only the fourth time in the club’s history and the second time in the Premier League.
West Brom continue to search for their first League win of the season. They are currently 18th, but today’s performance suggests otherwise. They put up a great fight and showed defensive solidity after conceding in every game bar one thus far.
