Home   /   5 To Try: Alternatives to your Album Collection

We’ve all spent time listening to our favourite albums over the last few months. Whatever you’re into we can all get bored of listening to the same tracks over and over again. If you’re stuck for something new to listen to, why not check out some of the artists below? You never know, you might find something you love.

1. Munich 2016 (Live) – Keith Jarrett

If you’re looking for something to relax to or some background noise while you work, this is the album for you. Jarrett brings his own unique style and ability to an almost entirely improvised extended piano performance. It’s not your typical jazz album. Trust me, you won’t be bored.

2. AB III – Alter Bridge

Wanting something a bit heavier? No problem. Alter Bridge’s third album is perhaps slightly less heavy than their two openers but no less entertaining. Myles Kennedy’s spellbinding vocals are as good as ever in this offering that should get you excited for the release of new AB material soon.

3. Elgar – Sheku Kanneh-Mason

If rock and jazz aren’t your thing, don’t panic! This classical collection features a range of rearranged Elgar compositions by the award-winning young cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, in collaboration with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Simon Rattle. Grand and polished, this album would be a perfect way to relax after a day working from home or as an alternative to binge-watching a new boxset.

4. Bridges To Buenos Aires (Live) – The Rolling Stones

Missing the thrill of seeing your favourite band on stage? While the Rolling Stones aren’t everyone’s favourite, they certainly excite a crowd. This album is no different. The usual mix of excitement and anticipation can all be experienced from your own home in this typically dramatic performance. All the classics are there, along with some crowd noise. Except this time, the crowd noise is real.

5. Rumours – Fleetwood Mac

It would be wrong not to include one classic! Nearly everyone’s heard it but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth listening to again. One of the albums of a generation that never fails to get people excited. A great one to choose when you’ve finished working or want a crowd pleaser, a socially distanced crowd that is, this album is full of instantly recognisable hits.
