Liverpool’s draw against Brighton means that both Chelsea and Tottenham have the chance to take top spot in their derby meeting on Sunday, with Spurs needing just a point to regain top spot, while Chelsea need all three.

The two dropped points from fellow title-contenders Liverpool has increased the magnitude of the already important London derby; the offering of first place to the two dark horses for the title, both of which are in scintillating form.

Chelsea are currently on a 10-game unbeaten streak in all competitions, and will be looking to avenge their most recent defeat, which came against Spurs in their Carabao Cup meeting. No easy task considering the equally impressive form of Spurs, culminated in their two nil win over Manchester City last weekend, a performance which has seen them recognised a legitimate title challengers.

Having scored 43 league goals between them, the game looks guaranteed to have plenty of goals, and also features the apprentice vs master side narrative, with Frank Lampard hosting his old manager Jose Mourinho.

Both sides will be eager to take points from the other knowing that taking points at the expense of a fellow title challenger could prove vital come the end of the season. This one looks set up to be the proverbial ‘six pointer’.
