Manchester United travel the short distance north to face a resurgent Burnley side knowing at least a point will take them to the top of the league.

The Red Devils recorded victory in their last game, a much-changed side laboured to a one-nil win against Championship side Watford in the FA Cup third round. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping his side pick up all three points before their showdown with Liverpool on the weekend at Anfield.
The home side are in good form, winning three of their last four matches and only losing once in their six games in December. The Clarets relied on penalties to knock out struggling League 1 side MK Dons on the weekend. Goal-shy Burnley have scored just nine goals in their 15 league games this season, the second-worst behind Sheffield United (8), and will be hoping their solid defence can save them on Tuesday night.
Team News
Burnley are hopeful of Nick Pope’s return from an ankle injury with Will Norris on standby. Dwight McNeil is hopeful of a return. Charlie Taylor, Jay Rodriguez, and Kevin Long are expected to be out. Josh Brownhill and Ashley Westwood will return after sitting out the MK Dons game.
Solskjaer confirmed Paul Pogba, Victor Lindelöf and Luke Shaw were injured for Watford and may not be risked with Liverpool to come, Eric Bailly is a doubt after picking up a neck injury in that game. Edinson Cavani has served his three-game ban and will return.
