Manchester United 1-2 Sheffield United

Goals from Kean Bryan and Oliver Burke hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his first league defeat since November as Manchester United fail to climb back into top spot.
Sheffield United took the lead in the 23rd minute as a corner was whipped in from the right-hand side which 24-year-old Kean Bryan got on the end of to put the Blades in front.
United went on to equalise in the 63rd minute through their captain, Harry Maguire, as he also got on the end of a corner. Alex Telles’ ball was met by the former Sheffield United man who powered his header home from close range.
Then with 15 minutes to go, substitute Oli Burke had the freedom of Manchester in the penalty area as his shot deflected off Axel Tuanzebe and into the back of the net to hand Chris Wilder a famous win at Old Trafford.
In the first half, the home side had a goal ruled out for a push on Aaron Ramsdale by Harry Maguire. The Sheffield United goalkeeper dropped the ball into the path of Anthony Martial who tapped the ball into an empty net but the referee had already blown his whistle.
This result means that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side remain in second place, two points behind Manchester City, who have a game in hand. Sheffield United move up to eight points and still remain in 20th position but will this win spur Wilder’s men on to manufacture an unlikely great escape.
