Brooklyn Nets ran out 124-120 winners against the Los Angeles Clippers in a tight affair. Point guard Kyrie Irving ran riot with 39 points, five rebounds and two assists.
It was always going to be a close matchup between these two with both sides towards the top end of their respective conferences, the Nets came out on top, but it wasn’t easy with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George scoring high for the Clippers.
Leonard scored 33 points, five rebounds and five assists and George added 26 points, four rebounds and six assists.
James Harden made his return from injury and is proving his worth after his recent trade from the Houston Rockets. The bearded beast scored 23 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists.
Teammate Kevin Durant just edged his teammate on points with 28 and eight rebounds. If the Nets can keep up this form they could be on their way to a Championship.
In his post-game press conference Nets coach, Steve Nash said: “Tonight we got a little bit better against a really good team.” He also went onto say how pleased he was with his side’s defensive performance. The Nets have conceded the most points in the NBA so far this season with 2,709.
The Clippers three-game away winning streak ends but they can make it up for it when they face the Cleveland Cavillers tomorrow. The Nets host the Toronto Raptors on Saturday.
