Bradley Beal came back with a bang after missing Friday nights match-up with the New York Knicks. He led his side to a 104-91 win over the Boston Celtics.
It was an early tipoff in the capital and both sides desperately needed a win. The Wizards had Beal and the Celtics had Jayson Tatum, the two St. Louis residents were about to lock horns in a fierce contest.
Beal dropped 35 points, seven rebounds and five assists, he was showing why he was the top points scorer (per game) in the NBA. Tatum had a very different game, he trudged to a measly six points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker picked up the slack with 25 points each, but it wasn’t enough to compound an already beaten-up Celtics side.
With the support of Russell Westbrook and Rui Hachimura, the Wizards grabbed their 7th win of the season. Westbrook found himself just a singular rebound away from a triple-double.
He ended the night with 13 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists. Hachimura edged his team-mate on points with 15, he also added four rebounds and one assist.
Celtics guard Brown admitted they are struggling in his post-match press conference, “It’s up to the mentality of everybody. You let it be rock-bottom mentality and that’s what it’s going to be.”
The Wizards are back at home on Monday when they host the Houston Rockets, it’s also a return to the TD Gardens for the Celtics when they face the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday.
