Tonight the reigning European Champions Bayern Munich are playing against Lazio in the first leg of the last 16 in the Champions League.
Embed from Getty ImagesThe home side tonight remained unbeaten in the group stage but only won two games. They finished second in Group F behind Borussia Dortmund. The Italian side are currently in sixth place in the Serie A. They was victorious in their last game at the weekend where they beat Sampdoria 1-0. Lazio has only made one change to their side from their victory at the weekend with Manuel Lazzari replacing Senad Lulić.
The reigning European champions done well in the group stage finishing top of their group finishing top of Group A which included Atlético Madrid and RB Salzburg. Bayern Munich lost there last game against Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1. The German side has made two changes to their side that lost at the weekend. Leon Goretzka and Jamal Musiala are in the team replacing Marc Roca and Eric Choupo-Moting.
Tonights game is Lazio’s first time are in the knockout round of the Champions League in 21 years. At this stage last season Bayern Munich beat Chelsea 7-1 on aggregate which included a 3-0 win away from home in the first leg.
Both sides are coming out for the start of the first leg between Lazio and Bayern Munich for this Last 16 tie.

KICK OFF: Bayern Munich has kicked off the game.
3rd min: Early on in the game the away side are keeping the ball well looking to put pressure on the Italian side. Lazio looks organised in defence and are looking to make it difficult for the reigning Champions.
6th min: Good early run from Niklas Süle on the right side of the pitch getting past the Lazio defence. Surprisingly good run from Süle who isn’t known for his dribbling ability.
7th min: First chance of the game was for Robert Lewandowski who tried getting on the end of a cross from out wide but couldn’t reach the ball.
9th min: GOAL FOR BAYERN MUNICH. Poor pass from Mateo Musacchio who give the ball straight to the goal scoring machine that is Lewandowski, who was able to get round Reina in the Lazio goal and score the opening goal in the game. Poor from Lazio giving the German side an early lead in the tie and a away goal.
12th min: Bayern Munich are looking to score another goal in this game and double there lead with Joshua Kimmich taking a shot from outside the penalty area where the shot was blocked.
16th min: Another chance for Bayern Munich this time from a counter attack. Lewandowski drilled the ball in the penalty area to Leroy Sane but couldn’t direct the ball towards the goal.
20 min: Hans-Dieter Flick will be happy with how his side started in todays game getting an early goal and are dominating the game.
23rd min: First chance in the game for Lazio went to Luis Alberto who received the ball in the penalty area but his shot went straight to Manuel Neuer in the penalty area.
24th min: GOAL FOR BAYERN MUNICH. The 17 year old, Jamal Musiala, has scored the second goal in the game. Brilliant composer from the young player as he was able to calmly place the ball in the bottom corner.
27th min: YELLOW CARD FOR LAZIO: Luis Alberto has been given the first card in the game due to a dangerous tackle with his studs up.
30th min: SUBSTITUION FOR LAZIO: Musacchio is now being replaced by Senad Lulić. Lazio has been poor so far and Simone Inzaghi is making an early change today. Musacchio won’t be happy with how he has played today.
33rd min: Lazio know if they have any chance in winning getting back in this tie they will need score soon.
35th min: Poor clearance from Reina in the Lazio goal lead to another chance for Lewandowski but was unable to punish his former teammate. The Polish strikers shot went straight to Reina in the Lazio goal as he didn’t concede another goal.
40th min: Better from Lazio has the Italian side was able to break away but the Bayern Munich defence was able to block the shot from Ciro Immobile.
42nd min: GOAL FROM BAYERN MUNICH: Another goal for Bayern Munich this time Sané scored the reigning European champions. Kingsley Coman done well breaking away after another defensive mistake from Lazio, this time from Patric as the French winger was able to cut inside and get a shot off, Reina was able to save the first shot but couldn’t stop Sané scoring the rebound.
HALF TIME IN ROME: Brilliant first half from Bayern Munich who are 3-0 up in the game. Goals from Lewandowski, Musiala and Sané has given the German side a 3-0 lead. Lazio look like a team that doesn’t deserve to be in the Champions League and won’t be for much longer after that first half performance.

In the other game in the Champions League right now between Atlético Madrid and Chelsea is a boring 0-0.
SECOND HALF BEGINS: Lazio kicks off the second half as they will hope for a better performance.
47th min: GOAL FOR BAYERN MUNICH: Shocking start for Lazio in the second half as they are 4-0 down in their own ground. Francesco Acerbi was the player that scored an own goal. Sané done very well in the lead up to the goal as he was able to break away and put the ball in the penalty area which lead to the own goal.
49th min: GOAL FOR LAZIO. Well that’s a surprise. Joaquin Correa done well in scoring his sides first goal in the game. The Lazio forward done well getting through the Bayern Munich defence and was able to place the ball in the bottom corner. Neuer got a hand to the ball but couldn’t keep the ball out of the goal.
53rd min: Another good chance for Lazio which fell to Correa again. A good 1-2 with Correa and Immobile which lead to the Argentine striker getting a shot on goal from outside the penalty area, which was saved by Neuer in the Bayern Munich goal.
54th min: SUBSTITUTIONS FOR LAZIO. Lucas and Patric is off for Gonzalo Escalante and Wesley Hoedt.
56th min: Lazio can be happy with how they have reacted to going 4-0 by scoring instantly and they are putting pressure on the Bayern Munich defence.
57th min: YELLOW CARD FOR LAZIO. Correa gets a yellow card after a late challenge on Boateng.
61st min: Another chance for Lazio but Lazzari’s shot goes out for a throw in. That’s embarrassing for a Sunday League player don’t mind a Professional footballer.
63rd min: SUBSTITUTION FOR BAYERN MUNICH. Goretzka is off for Javi Martinez.
63rd min: Chance for Immobile who’s shot went straight at Neuer in the Bayern Munich goal. The German side has not played well since their early second half goal.
65th min: YELLOW CARD FOR LAZIO. Adam Marušić gets a yellow card fouling Coman stopping the Bayern Munich attack.
66th min: The resulting free kick from taken by David Alaba which just went wide of the goal.
69th min: YELLOW CARD FOR LAZIO. Gonzalo Escalante picks up another yellow card for Lazio. The Lazio midfielder fouled the Polish goal scoring machine which resulted in a yellow card for his side.
72nd min: YELLOW CARD FOR BAYERN MUNICH. Joshua Kimmich picks up his sides first yellow card in the game this evening. The Bayern Munich midfielder gets cautioned for dissent.

75th min: YELLOW CARD FOR BAYERN MUNICH. Coman gets a yellow card after a late challenge on Marušić.
75th min: SUBSTITUTION FOR BAYERN MUNICH. Coman is now coming off immediately after getting cautioned. The winger is now off for Lucas Hernandez.
79th min: Another mistake with from Lazio trying to play the ball out the back. This time Reina in the Lazio goal he played a poor pass which meant the ball fell to Lewandowski in the penalty area but the Lazio goalkeeper made up for the mistake by saving the shot.
81st min: SUBSTITUTIONS FOR LAZIO. Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Danilo Cataldi are off for Sergej Milinković-Savić and Alberto.
85th min: A few minutes are left in the game with Bayern Munich winning 4-1. The German side will be happy with how things have gone in the game today.
89th min: SUBSTITUTIONS FOR BAYERN MUNICH. Musiala and Sané are off for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr.

Full Time. Huge result for the reigning Champions beating Lazio 4-1 away from home. Goal from Lewandowski, Musiala and Sané scored goals in the first half and Bayern added to their lead thanks to an own goal from Acerbi. Correa was able to earn his side some pride by scoring straight after Acerbi’s own goal. Bayern Munich completely dominated the game as they have pretty much confirmed their place in the quarter final.
