KICK OFF: Saturday 6th March 2021, 8PM
Two teams aiming to turn their Premier League fortunes around following underwhelming results last time out.
Brighton suffered a controversial defeat to West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns last weekend while Leicester City drew away to Burnley midweek, a game they felt they should have come away with the precious three points as the battle for a top four spot heats up.
The last meeting between the two was in December as Leicester comfortably came away with a 3-0 win. A few months on, both teams will be aiming to come away with the win with both Premier League survival and a spot in the Champions League next season is on the line.
The Seagulls who sit in 16th remain three points clear of the drop zone and will be thankful that the sides around them are flattering to deceive as well, but January’s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur remains their sole home triumph in the league this term before they meet a Leicester side with the best away record in the league.
Brendan Rodgers’ men have won four out of their last six in the top flight, but failure to take all three points home from the Amex would see them go three games without a win in the Premier League for the first time since June.
TEAM NEWS
Brighton
Brighton will continue to monitor the fitness of forward Aaron Connolly, who suffered a back spasm injury during training on Thursday.
Tariq Lamptey will see a specialist following a setback in his recovery from a hamstring issue, while Florin Andone, Solly March and Adam Webster remain out.
Leicester City
As for the visitors, Wesley Fofana made a welcome return in the draw against Burnley in midweek and should feature in the first XI this weekend.
Fofana’s return will mean Wilfried Ndidi goes back into the engine room in midfield with Hamza Choudhury possibly making way for the Nigerian international in midfield.
