Tyson Fury will be defending his WBC Heavyweight title against the former champion Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas this Saturday.
The History
The first time the two men fought was in December 2018 which was a controversial split draw where many people feel like Fury should have won the fight despite being knocked down twice by Wilder, including a brutal knockdown in the 12th round.
When the two fight fought back in February 2020, Fury won comprehensively against Wilder as the fight was stopped in the seventh round. Fury was dominant in the fight constantly putting the Bronze Bomber on the back foot as the Englishman was able to land on his opponent with ease constantly knocking him down till the fight was stopped.
Trilogy Fight
Going into the fight everyone knows who the better boxer is as Fury has been the dominant fighter in both fights, but you can never underestimate Wilder’s power with 41 career knockouts.
Going into the rematch Wilder has changed his trainer from Mark Breland, who he believes sabotaged him in the last fight to Malik Scott a man who Wilder beat with a first round KO earlier in his career. Before the last fight Fury changed his trainer from Ben Davison to Sugarhill Steward.
Wilder will have had to have trained on fighting on the back foot and will be hoping to be more confident when Fury is marching towards him. However, based on the last fight you would have to fancy Fury to keep his title.
