The excellent Harry Kane headed home in the 95th from January signing Dejan Kuluveski’s cross to secure a dramatic late victory for Tottenham away to the league leaders Manchester City.
The England captain showed Pep Guardiola why he should have done everything to sign him. Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte could not deal with Kane. The striker scored two goals and created numerous chances with his excellent hold up play and passing.
City thought they had snatched a point in the 92nd minute when they were awarded a penalty for handball against Cristian Romero. Riyad Mahrez dispatched the penalty in to the top corner.
However, Antonio Conte’s side refused to settle for a point; Rodrigo Bentancur set Kuluveski away down the wing and the Swede drifted a lovely cross into the box and Kane leapt above Kyle Walker at the back post to head home, sending the away fans into pandemonium.
Spurs took the lead in the fourth minute. Kane played Son Heung-Min in behind and the South Korean squared the ball to Kuluveski to slot him into an empty net.
Manchester City had all the possession and piled on the pressure but it was an error from Hugo Lloris that allowed İlkay Gündoğan to equalise in the 33rd minute.
However, Son produced a beautiful cross to find Kane who made no mistake and equalled the record of 36 goal contributions between them.
Despite the Mahrez penalty, Spurs’ late winner secured all three points and blew the top four and title race wide open.
