Crawley Town were held to a 2-2draw last night at home against 23rd placed Oldham Athletic. Their manager, John Yems was sent off in with only minutes of the game left to play for speaking out of turn, in what was his second dismissal in his last three games.
“I have got to learn to keep my mouth shut.” Said Yems.
“But I keep saying it, and I am not going to get myself in trouble because I am still waiting for the first ban. But the standard is absolutely below anything I have ever experienced. And it’s week in, week out.
“And I should have listened, John [Sheridan], their manager said to me ‘I don’t know why you get involved with them’. How are you supposed to not get frustrated an annoyed? It’s my livelihood.”
Yem’s frustration came after a serious of controversial decisions from the officials after his side had blown their lead in the 70th minute.

Oldham manager John Sheridan has now managed to guide Oldham to seven games unbeaten in the league. Although his side still have a long way to go before they are safe for the next League Two season, a point on the road won’t be turned down.
Sheridan said: “It was a tough game in difficult conditions. I knew it would be a difficult game with the three-up top, with Nadesan who I’ve had before and is always lively.”

“Them points will be vital, but it’s important to take into the next game now and try our hardest to get the three points. They are a tough team who are in and around us at the bottom so it will be a tough game, but we are doing alright ourselves.” Added Sheridan.
Oldham did well to take the lead against Crawley through Hallam Hope’s pinpoint finish but were quickly put back into reality when Crawley went ahead themselves only five minutes later.
“They were poor goals (to concede) on our part, but we scored a great goal ourselves. We should come out and defend better but I’m nit-picking because we do defend very well at times. But we cause ourselves a lot of our own problems.” Admitted Sheridan.
