England are unable to breakthrough a rigid Czech defence on Lucy Bronze’s 100th cap.

Bronze and England struggled to create any real chances as their 15 game winning streak hits an abrupt end. It looked as if it could be a lively game as Lauren James smashed their first attempt against the post within 5 minutes.

However, what followed was a lack of creative spark from both sides, with England often preferring to play the ball backwards and maintain possession instead of taking on the opposition to create a chance.

Chloe Kelly could’ve gifted Bronze an assist as the best chance of the first half fell to her after the right-back floated a ball in straight onto her head, but her attempt flew agonisingly just past the post.

Lauren Hemp was stopped by the post as the whole stadium rose expecting to see the net bulge, but her dinked attempt only found the woodwork and was able to be smashed clear by Petra Bertholdova.

Czech Republic failed to get into the game but somehow they were able to hold out for a draw. They had just 29.8% possession with just a singular shot on target from Andrea Staskova that was straight down the throat of Mary Earps.

With minimal to take away from the game, the Lionesses will be delighted with a packed, and loud, Amex stadium supporting the Englishwomen, just like at Wembley for their match against USA showing the universal support.

The players can return to their clubs for another month before their matchup against Japan in November.
