England came back to the Amex this evening to face Czech Republic, neither team managed to make their chances count in this friendly though resulting in a 0-0 score line.
There were a few changes to the England squad tonight with Georgia Stanway not featuring on the team sheet and Beth Mead starting on the bench.
It was due to a well organised and determined Czech Republic team that England failed to score tonight. Karel Rada set up his team with a strong defence which made it difficult for England throughout the match.
One player who did shine no matter the score line was Lauren James, who hit the woodwork in the first half and was at the forefront of a lot of England’s attacking play when she was on the pitch.

Tonight’s game also featured what looked like a nasty ankle injury to Gabriela Slajsova with the full-back having to be taken off via a stretcher in the 73rd minute.
Overall, the Czech Republic team can walk away with their heads held high after a strong defensive performance in tonight’s match, while I’m sure Sarina Wiegman and the rest of the England squad will be left feeling underwhelmed by the result.
