A historic evening for women’s gymnastics tonight at the 2022 World Championships as America achieved their sixth successive team gold medal, Great Britain achieved their highest-ever team result with a silver medal, and Canada received their first-ever women’s team medal.

One of the most impressive routines of the night though came from GB’s very own Jessica Gadirova, who scored a 14.266 for her outstanding floor work. She went into the routine under some slight pressure due to Japan posting some solid scores on the uneven bars for their final rotation, and threatening GB’s silver medal spot, but the pressure seemed to only make Jessica Gadirova perform even better.

This slip-up allowed Canada to swoop in and secure their bronze medal with tears of happiness shed from many members of their team, especially Ellie Black who at 27 years old was the most experienced member of their team.
After the enthralling first finals event today the men will now be looking to see if they can make their team finals as exciting tomorrow, with team GB looking to be in with a chance of securing another medal possibly even gold.
