A night that was filled with struggles for many, Daiki Hashimoto from Japan, Zhang Boheng from China, and Wataru Tanigawa also from Japan managed to hold their nerves and claim the medal positions in the men’s all-around finals at the Gymnastics World Championships.
Team GB representatives Jake Jarman and Joe Fraser finished in fifth and 22nd with Jarman showing off his skill in the final rotation with a score of 14.433 for his floor routine.
It was a bit more of a difficult night for Fraser as he seemed to struggle to get into the competition. He ended up making mistakes on a few of the apparatus but after a very busy and impressive year this year, it is easy to understand why any of these gymnasts at these championships may be struggling to keep their energy going.
Hashimoto himself would have been feeling a lot of pressure coming into these finals with everybody watching knowing that he is the current Olympic champion in this event. He failed to let the pressure get to him though as he showed everybody in the M&S Bank Arena and the people watching from home exactly why he is claimed to be the next dominating force in men’s gymnastics.
The Championships don’t end here though, as we return less than 24 hours after the end of this final with the first day of the individual apparatus finals with team GB having gymnasts in a few of these events.
