Five-time World Cup winners Brazil will face off against Serbia in Group G at Lusail Stadium tonight at 7pm UK time.
Seleção are currently ranked number one in men’s international football by FIFA and are regarded as favourites to progress and even win this year’s World Cup in Qatar. Their first test will be against Dragan Stojković’s Serbia.
Brazil are nothing but confident before tonight’s clash as they are sporting a 15-game unbeaten streak across all competitions. Moreover, they have come out on top in both of their previous meetings with Serbia without conceding.
Brazil manager Tite will be counting on all his men for tonight’s game, as Alex Telles, Antony and Bruno Guimarães are all recovering from minor injuries.
This will definitely be a tough one for Serbia however, but Dragan Stojković is optimistic.
“Brazil is a great team, one of the best in the world. It’s a golden generation of players at this moment, I think,” Serbia boss said in a press conference before the game. “The game will start at 0-0, so Brazil will have a chance to win, but Serbia also has a chance to win. We are not afraid of anyone in the world.”
Aleksandar Mitrović is expected to start on the bench tonight as he has not fully recovered from an ankle injury. Luka Jović and Dušan Vlahović will most likely lead Serbia up front.
Will Neymar Jr. start off this tournament well and lead Seleção to glory? Or will the Serbian Orlovi (Eagles) fly up high?
