Home   /   Group G Showdown – who will follow Brazil into the last 16?

Cameroon are facing favourites Brazil later today at Lusail Stadium with the tough task to beat them if they want to progress to the last 16; while Serbia and Switzerland will face off against each other at the same time at the 974 Stadium in Doha.

The Indomitable Lions will hope to snatch a historical win against Brazil, or for Serbia vs. Switzerland to finish in a draw; or, for Serbia to beat Switzerland by one goal margin.

Meanwhile, Seleção need only a point to finish top of Group G.

The Serbian Eagles need nothing else but a win against Switzerland if they want to keep their chances for progressing past the group stage. After the heady draw of 3-3 with Cameroon, the Orlovi will surely be eager to beat Murat Yakin’s Switzerland and exit the group as second after Brazil.

In regard to team news, Cameroon will be missing goalkeeper Andre Onana after he was sent home for ‘disciplinary reasons’ after disagreeing with manager Rigobert Song over his style of play. David Epassy takes his spot in goal for Cameroon. Alex Sandro is ruled out for Brazil with a hip injury, with potential substitution in the face of Alex Telles. Neymar is also missing, at least for this game as well.

Aleksandar Mitrović is a sure starter for Serbia, supported by Sergej Milinković-Savić and Dušan Tadić, whereas Noah Okafor will be missing for the Swiss Nati. Breem Embolo will most likely lead the attack.
