Cameroon shockingly beat a Brazil lacking a few regular faces at the Lusail Stadium but are still out of the World Cup; while an energetic Switzerland defeated Serbia and threw the Balkan nation out of the competition as well in Doha at the same time.
A Vincent Aboubakar header saw the win for Cameroon in the added time against Brazil and he was given a second yellow and subsequently a red card for taking off his jersey.
Because Brazil had already qualified, manager Tite made substantial changes to the line-up, such as Manchester City keeper Ederson for Alisson, and Gabriel Martinelli, who impressed on a few occasions tonight.
Brazil finishes top of Group G and will face off against South Korea in the knockouts.
In the other game of the evening, Switzerland snatched the second place in Group G after beating Serbia 2-3 in an entertaining game.
Switzerland got an early lead through Xherdan Shaqiri, but Serbia turned the game around in the first half still with goals by Aleksandar Mitrovic and Dusan Vlahovic.
Second half promised some drama thus – and drama it delivered. A Breel Embolo equaliser; and later on a cool flick for the third goal saw the victory for the Nati. Serbia pushed, but without success, and Switzerland progress as second in Group G and right onto Portugal in the knockout phase.
