“Neymar will train today in the afternoon and if he trains well he will play.” says Tite as Brazil take on South Korea this evening in the round of 16 of the World Cup.
Neymar who missed the last two group games due to sustaining ligament damage in his right ankle is set to make his return to add to the Brazilian’s abundance of attacking talent against South Korea.
“With his return, the whole team will improve,” said Richarlison, scorer of both goals against Serbia, on Friday. “I hope he comes back. Everyone saw how much we missed him in the last two games. I think him coming back will make me better.”
Brazil was on course to win 10 games in a row until they came up against Cameroon on matchday three where they lost to a 92nd minute winner from Vincente Aboubakar, this didn’t prevent them from topping the group however.
South Korea will be no pushover with them picking up four points from their games against Uruguay and Portugal in the group stage, dramatically confirming their progression from the group with their late win against Portugal in the final game.
“This is great but our tournament is not over,” said Son
“We’ve always talked about reaching the round of 16 as our objective but we should now try to go beyond that.”
My Prediction: Brazil 3-0 South Korea
