Bognor Regis Town FC (Rocks) have progressed to the finals of Sussex Senior Cup at the expense of beating current holders Brighton in the semi-final. The Rocks will play Worthing in the final.
The game was settled through a penalty shootout after 1-1 full time.
All the Bognor Regis Town players converted their penalties, which resulted in 5-4 to the Rocks. However, in the quarter finals, the Rocks thrashed 6-1 against Bexhill United.
That quarterfinal proved to be a game with huge significance as the star player, Nathan Odokonyero speaking to the Sussex FA media. The striker finished with a career high of 34 goals in all competitions.
He said: “I think it was definitely one that gave us the belief that maybe we could go on a run here in this competition.”
Bognor manager, Robbie Blake did not provide any injury concerns, he has a full-strength squad to choose from ahead of the Sussex Senior Cup final on Thursday night.
Bognor finished 14th in the Isthmian Premier League and cup final win would make for a satisfactory end.
The final will be played at the American Express Community Stadium on Thursday 11th and kick off is at 7:30.
