A Kalvin Lumbombo-Kalala header was the difference as Lewes FC saw off FC Oslo in their first ever European match.
The Rooks put on a blistering display in the first half and stayed dominant throughout the 90 minutes. Overall, their first win in the FENIX Trophy was totally deserved.
In the second 45 the home side asserted control, and although they mustered far less chances, the only threat from Oslo came from sporadic and ultimately toothless breakaways.
Lewes started brightly, and within the first 10 minutes Lumbombo-Kalala had clattered the crossbar with a long-range pile driver.
But their pressure was soon rewarded via a Deon Moore brake away from inside his own half.
The winger darted down the right-hand side and clipped in an inch perfect cross for Lumbombo-Kalala to head past Robin Vikskjold in Oslo’s goal on the 15-minute mark.
Moore and Lumbombo-Kalala were imperious down both flanks and gave their opposite numbers hell throughout the first 45.
After the break Lewes stayed in control but were subjected to some strong Oslo challenges.
Most notably, Rooks substitute Archie Tamplin was stretchered off after a nasty tangle with opposition fullback Sondre Mölsaeter.
Only some impressive blocking of two close range Tommy Wood shots in the 79th and 81st minute prevented further damage to FC Oslo, and at full-time the home players were given a raucous reception by their jubilant set of fans.
The win draws Lewes level on points with KSK Beveren at the top of Group D and leaves Oslo bottom.
