After their derby defeat, fans have begun to call for Russell to be sacked as Southampton have now lost 5 of their 6 games in the Premier League this season.
The former MK Dons defender urges for the fans to give him more time, but also states he does not listen to outside noise.
“I did not listen last season and we went 25 games unbeaten” Fans could claim that Martin is clinging on to previous achievements, which unfortunately does not change the events of this season.
The Southampton manager compared himself to Arsenal and Arteta, stating how Arteta also struggled early on in his Arsenal career.

Arsenal have their own problems, such as who will play at right back tomorrow for the Gunners. Arteta stated “We had to modify training for them (Timber and White), we have a decision to make. They are close, as is Tomiyasu, so good news.”
