Brighton secured a dominant 1-0 win over Leicester to continue their record-breaking start to the WSL campaign and provisionally place them second.
Nikita Parris struck in the 20th minute for the Seagulls, who controlled the game from the offset. The inform striker’s header from six-yards out marks Parris’ third consecutive league goal at home, the first time she’s achieved this feat since 2018.
Brighton would argue they should have scored more. Vicky Losada’s early chance was lofted over the crossbar, and Parris could have doubled their lead in the second half but chipped her effort over.

Leicester grew into the game in additional time, but to no avail. Opportunities from substitutes Nicole Momiki and Hannah Cain were squandered, meaning Leicester have only scored two goals in six league games this season.
Brighton have gone four consecutive home games unbeaten (W3, D1) this season – the first time in WSL history they’ve done this. A trip to Arsenal follows.
