Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions take a trip to Andorra, on Saturday night, as they continue their quest to qualify for the Fifa World Cup in Qatar next year.
They go into the game in fine form, being the only remaining team unbeaten in the group. England need a maximum of three wins out of four to qualify, and with the form they are in you wouldn’t bet against it. Andorra, however, have opposing fortunes. They have only won once in the group, which was against fellow strugglers San Marino.
They mathematically could still qualify, but their chances are slim especially with the other competition in the group. Despite this, Andorra will be looking to cause an upset in front of their home fans. Their artificial surface will prove to be tricky for the England side adding to the challenge.
The big news coming into the game is the appointment of an all-female officiating team for this game. It will be the first time that the England national team has been refereed by a female. Ukraine’s Kateryna Monzul will take charge of the match.
Both teams come with players missing as England are without Harry Maguire, Kalvin Phillips, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jude Bellingham and Reece James. However, Southgate may alter a lot of the first team to give minutes to the wider squad.
Andorra are without three players due to suspension: Albert Alavedra, Marcio Vieira and Moises San Nicolas.
