Overtime reporters ask people in Brighton city centre if they are concerned about the state of the economy.
Samuel Efe, 29, a student at the University of Sussex, said: “I am worried about the cost of living in Brighton.
“At present, I’m struggling with accommodation and even basic living needs.
“I landed a week ago, from West Africa and I’m concerned about everything that can be an expense, since the prices are hiking. As a student with no financial aid the entire scenario scares me.”
Jane Taylor, 63, of Hollingbury, Brighton, said: “I am worried about the rising energy prices which are happening right now in Brighton. I think the current government is not going to able to fulfil their duties.
“I am bothered about the soaring prices of food when it comes to immigrants more than the citizens. I think it is hard to survive in Britain for those who come from countries like Pakistan. I hope the government will make the right decisions in the future.”
