Gunners boss Mikel Arteta says a return to action for skipper Martin Odegaard is very difficult to say as the Gunner’s face a struggling Southampton side just before the international break.
Arsenal head into this match on back of an impressive midweek win against PSG in the Champions League but will have to make do without some key players as Mikel Arteta says there is a decision to make this afternoon on the fitness of Jurrien Timber and Ben White.
Under-fire boss Russell Martin said: “No one is happy that we haven’t won yet. Myself more than anyone. So, they probably feel as frustrated as I do. But also, they’ve been so supportive.”
With Jack Stephens missing out for an extra two matches for insulting officials, on top of his 3 match ban, he joins Will Smallbone and Kamaldeen Sulemana as the Southampton players who will miss out.
Aaron Ramsdale also returns to his old club as Mikel Arteta said, “He’s a player we loved a lot. He really put his fingerprints here at the club. It will be good to see him.”
Having not won in their last three matches against the Saints, Arsenal will be looking to grab their 400th home league win against them.
Prediction: Arsenal 6-0 Southampton
Key Player: Kai Havertz
