The Englishman has been facing serious criticism recently, however he has been ignoring the outside noise: “I don’t own a tin hat. We have enough noise in our own minds as managers”, he said.
Aaron Ramsdale will be returning to the Emirates for the first time since joining Southampton from Arsenal in the summer.
Mikel Arteta had nothing but praise for his former goalkeeper at his press conference: “We loved him a lot, very charismatic and he really put his fingerprints in at the club. It will be very good to see him”.
Gunners’ captain Martin Ødegaard will still be absent with injury. “Martin is very difficult. I expected still with the boot and a lot of things, but he’s working so hard and he’s pushing.”
Regarding injuries to Benjamin White and Jurrien Timber, the Arsenal boss provided an update: “We had to modify training for them [Timber and White], We have a decision to make. They are close, as is Tomiyasu, so good news.”
