Welcome, this is Daniel Lambert. Read through my live blog of the clash between Lewes FC and Leatherhead where Lewes FC thrashed ten man Leatherhead to climb to third in the Isthmian Premier Division.
Line-ups will be announced very shortly.
It’s 19:45 here at the Dripping Pan, home of Lewes FC where they will be facing a manager-less Leatherhead who sit bottom of the table. We’re about to get things underway.
5′ Chance for Lewes FC. Crowd favourite Ollie Tanner has the first opportunity of the game on the left hand edge of the box, his shot was parried by Myles Bowman and out for a corner.
12′ It’s Tanner again with another chance, this time he slashes his shot wide of the goal. Chances unsurprisingly falling the way of the home team but its still 0-0.
13′ Moments later it’s Tanner again, a real spark for Lewes FC in the early stages. He has another shot saved by the keeper.
14′ The first crunching challenge of the match and it’s from Lewes’s Matt Weaire. An immediate roar from the home crowd followed.
22′ Another chance for Lewes FC as Taylor Maloney whipped in a sumptuous effort for the incoming Mitchell Nelson, but his late arrival sent the ball blazing over the crossbar. It’s all Lewes FC so far but still no goals to show for their efforts.
27′ First chance of the game for Leatherhead. Jack Skinner dispossessed Weaire, squared the ball towards Chidubem Onokwai whose curling effort was parried by Lewis Carey. Just a little warning there for Lewes, its still 0-0.
31′ Chance for Lewes FC again as Michael Klass heads the ball over the crossbar following a corner.
33′ Another chance for Lewes FC as Bradley Pritchard blazes a strike from 25 yards out over the crossbar and out of the stadium. New balls please.
36′ Booking Klass receives the first yellow card of the game for a late challenge. Home fans unhappy as they feel Leatherhead have got away with a few themselves.
38′ Booking Leatherhead’s Guy Kiangebini receives a yellow card for a late challenge on Tom Carlse.
39′ GOAL Lewes FC striker Joe Taylor scores to take the lead. A left footed strike on the half turn is fired into the roof of the net following a ricochet from the crossbar. Bowman had no chance. (1-0)
43′ RED CARD Mitchell Nelson with an early bath for Leatherhead as he receives a straight red due to being the last man. Nelson pulls down Taylor after losing out on a launched loose second ball and leaving Taylor in a 1v1 position.
45′ GOAL Lewes manage to capitalise on Leatherhead’s downfall to ten men as Maloney converts the free-kick with a kind deflection that skewed Bowman’s eyeline and positioning. The referee blows for the half-time whistle. (2-0)
The second half commences and both sides have made a change at the break.
50′ GOAL Lewes have come flying out the blocks as Pritchard cuts inside from the left hand side and finesses a shot past the keeper to make it 3-0.
58′ Absolutely brilliant intricate football from Lewes in the right half space before finding Klass on the edge of the box. His effort was saved by Bowman.
60′ SUBSTITUTION Lewes replace Michael Klass with Freddie Parker
61′ GOAL Taylor now has a brace tonight as he scores a header following a corner from 15 yards out. Lewes FC are really storming here. (4-0)
65′ Another chance goes begging for Lewes as recent substitute Parker heads the ball over the crossbar following a cross.
68′ Ollie Tanner is back in the action for Lewes as he cut inside from the left wing but hits a shot comfortably into Bowman’s palms.
71′ SUBSTITUTION Lewes bring on Iffy Allen to replace Razz Coleman De-Graft.
74′ GOAL Instant involvement from Allen as he slots home the rebuild following a Tanner shot that bounced back off the post. (5-0)
78′ Leatherhead try and soften the blow with a chance against the run of play but an audacious attempt to lob Carey by Onokwai but skies the attempt high and wide.
78′ SUBSTITUTION Leatherhead bring on Callum Manning for Jack Skinner with 10 minutes left to play.
85′ Tanner goes close again as he has his shot blocked inside the penalty area by Henry Mabassa.
90′ The fourth official has announced there will be three additional minutes left in the match.
90+3′ Parker has the final chance of the game but Bowman is able to save it and it rolls just past the post
