More Monday night football for us tonight in an intense match off between Liverpool and Leicester. Liverpool hope to ease closer to United in the race for Champions League football and desperately need the three points tonight. Klopp understands that “mathematically it isn’t likely but we are fully focused tonight and every game is a must win for top 4”.Â
Leicester have struggled massively this season with a change of manager. The departure of Brendan Rodgers has had a serious effect on Leicster who sit in the relegation zone but a win tonight would take them out and one step closer to safety.
As for line-ups, Liverpool are again without Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita, after Klopp recently stated they are “not in team training yet” and the German “doesn’t believe he will be ready by the weekend”.Â
The reds have been on fire heading into the King Power, winning seven Premier League games in a row. Thiago, Ramsay and Bajcetic all remain out till the end of the season, meaning Liverpool could again lack meat in midfield, hence the extreme interest in Brighton’s MacAllister.
Leicester are a side in serious trouble this season after the departure of Rodgers and little has seen to have changed with Dean Smith, only winning one in their last five games. Their squad sees improvements tonight however, with the return of Jonny Evans for first game since October who replaces Soyuncu with Ndidi coming back into midfield and Ricardo Pereria fills in for Dennis Praet. The attack remains the same with Barnes, Vardy and Maddison, a front three you could not picture playing Championship football.
