Brighton broke the deadlock 30 minutes in through McLauchlan, scoring her first goal for the Seagulls. The Scot curled her effort in following a masterful flick by Kirby.

The game burst into life in the second half. The Seagulls doubled their lead on the hour mark courtesy of Seike, but their lead wouldn’t last.

Captain Gorry scored two rapid-fire goals from outside the box to draw the game level less than 10 minutes after Brighton scored their second.

Gorry hit the bar in the 63rd minute from range, then smashed a long-range strike into the far right corner a minute later. Her second snuck into the net past Sofia Baggaley’s near post after a deflection.

Brighton recovered their lead with ten minutes left. Kirby capped off a strong performance by slotting home the winning goal after Seike’s squared ball.

The win sees Brighton climb to 16 points, their best ever WSL tally after nine games.
