Home   /   Burgess Hill Town vs Sheppey United Preview

A lot at stake this afternoon as Burgess Hill Town welcome Sheppey United for today’s clash in the Isthmian Division 1 South-East.

Joint managers Garry Mansell and Jay Lovett will be hoping to put some distance between them and their competition as this is a battle of 5th and 6th.

The Ites sit directly behind Burgess Hill with only a point separating the two sides, manager Ernie Batten will be hoping his side can leapfrog the mid-Sussex outfit with a strong performance this afternoon.

The last fixture between these two sides came towards the back end of last season, which saw Sheppey United visit the Home Call Carpets Community Stadium and steal the points in a 1-2 away win.

The Hillians are coming into this game after a hard fought 1-1 draw away at Margate but their last home game saw them demolish Lancing with a brutal 5-0 score line.

While Sheppey United’s last game saw a thrilling 4-3 win at home against Merstham to earn the three points.

With these two sides 11 and 12 points off league leaders Beckenham Town FC with three less games played, both sides will still have an eye on the title.
