2022 World Cup Group H matches to kick-start at 1.00pm on Thursday, with South Korea facing off Uruguay at Education City Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

South Korea captain Heung-min Son is fit to play and will start in Korea’s opening match at Qatar 2022 against the South Americans.

Coach Paul Bento confirmed to Sky Sports that the attacker will play with the black protective mask.

The 30-year-old Tottenham forward, who won the Premier League’s Golden Boot last season, has been training in a mask after suffering a fractured eye socket and having undergone facial surgery in November.

Uruguay, ranked No. 14 in the world, will start with two strikers Luis Suárez and Darwin Núñez who have called Liverpool home.

Uruguay have won their opening match at just one of their last seven World Cup participations.

The two-time World Cup winners have beaten South Korea six out of eight previous matches.

Both nations have met twice previously at the World Cup with the South Americans winning both of those games.

The Uruguayans qualified for Qatar 2022 after having finished third in South American qualifying behind Brazil and Argentina.

Uruguay: Rochet, Caceres, Godin, Gimenez, Olivera, Valverde, Vecino, Bentancur, Pellistri, Suarez, Nunez.

South Korea: Seung-Gyu Kim, Moon-Hwan Kim, Min-Jae Kim, Young-Gwon Kim, Jin-Su Kim, In-Beom Hwang, Jung, Na, Jae-Sung Lee, Heung-min Son, Eui-Jo Hwang.
