Dortmund are going into the second leg of their last 16 tie against Sevilla with a 3-2 lead. Erling Haaland was the star of the game scoring two goals and ensuring his lead having a lead going into the second leg at the Signal Iduna Park. A late goal from Sevilla forward Luuk De Jong got his side back into the tie.
Dortmund has been struggling in their domestic league as they are currently in sixth place having lost to Bayern Munich 4-2 at the weekend. However they have been solid in the Champions League so far this season especially Haaland who is the top goal scorer in the competition so far this season, eight goals in five games. Having scored three goal in the first leg Dortmund knows if they are able to score an early goal in the second leg they will have a huge chance in progressing in the competition.

The Spanish side have lost three games in a row which include a Copa del Rey second leg defeat which mean they was knocked out of the Spanish cup. However, Sevilla will feel like they can get back into this tie as Dortmund does concede a lot of goals. However the Sevilla defence knows they need to perform better in the second leg as they can’t give chances away like they did in the first leg. Sevilla will be looking towards their experienced players like Jesus Navas and Ivan Rakitić to help their side during the game as these types of playing will be vital for the Spanish if they will progress in the competition.

However if they score more than three goals they will have the advantage when it comes to the away goals rule. Dortmund knows a win or draw means they will definitely progress in the competition.
