Dover Athletic sealed their third win in a row in the Isthmian Premier Division with a convincing 3-1 win away from home at the Dripping Pan against Lewes on Tuesday night taking them five-points clear at the top of the table.

Dover asserted themselves from the get-go and capitalized on their dominance with three first half goals.

Just eight minutes in Ruben Soares-Junior placed a well-timed ball into George Nikaj who converted with a pinpoint header into the bottom right corner giving Dover an early lead.

They continued their early pressure three minutes later as Soares-Junior curled a left-footed effort into the bottom corner following a swift counterattack sending the Dover fans into euphoria.

Lewes’ struggles carried on in the 38th minute when Goalkeeper Toby Bull took out Luke Baptiste in the box.

Baptiste then stepped up and blasted his penalty into the bottom right corner despite the keeper getting a hand to it giving the Whites a 3-0 lead.

Lewes came out with more determination in the second half and were rewarded in the 60th minute through a goal from captain Danny Bassett who scored off a rebound.

However, despite their best efforts, Dover won comfortably in the end.
