Youngsters star in Eastbourne goal-fest
Eastbourne took a few minutes to get into gear before the ball broke for Cole who managed to cross the ball in for Rogers who needed two attempts to find the net and give Eastbourne the lead in the 11th minute.
Things quickly got better for Eastbourne with top scorer Hopkinson adding to the lead four minutes later with an absolutely fabulous chip after seeing Bird off his line and confidently finding the top corner from over 25 yards, doubling Eastbourne’s lead.
Eventually a third was scored as Capon was found by a long ball and calmly put the ball through the onrushing keeper’s legs to gift Eastbourne a three goal lead going into half time.
Star Youngster, Ademola came on at half time for the home side and didn’t take long to impress as he was played through on goal, in the 50th minute, only to hit the post, before scoring the rebound from a tight angle.
Another great goal was scored on the night after the Midhurst’s keeper’s blushes were nearly saved after his defence managed to clear the ball after he was tackled by Ademola, only for Samways to volley the clearance straight back into an empty net from outside the box in the 59th minute.
The final goal of the game came from another impressive youngster as Ademola rounded the goalkeeper before having his shot blocked with Hilman being in the right place at the right time to get his goal off the bench in the 68th minute.
