Lucy Bronze made her 100th England appearance as the Lionesses' 15-match winning run ended with a 0-0 draw against the resilient Czech Republic in Brighton.
Chances for newly capped Lauren James and Lauren Hemp crashed off the post while Beth Mead and Fran Kirby also saw chances missed in the latter stages of the match.
For Bronze, she would have wanted to celebrate her centurion status with a win in front of an attendance 21,222. She played a key part in England’s attacks while the Lionesses looked to be work the ball into the box too often.
Debutant James impressed and looks certain to be a crowd-favourite already. The game looked set to become a rout had James’ chance been fully converted.
The first half also saw Chloe Kelly’s glanced header narrowily wide from a superb Bronze cross on the 39th minute.
Following a dominant first half, England continued their dominance but saw missed chances once more. At the hour mark, England’s best chance saw Hemp looked to provide the much-needed breakthrough only to be denied by the post for the second time.
The Lionesses will want to respond next month with fixtures against Japan and Norway.
