Everton and Leicester City face off at Goodison Park on Wednesday evening, both aiming to maintain their impressive Premier League form.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have won five of their last six including a 2-0 victory in the reverse fixture at the King Power Stadium in mid-December, while the Foxes have won three in a row and are unbeaten in six games since that defeat.

Everton trail their opponents in the Premier League table by six points but have two games in hand. Win those games, and Ancelotti’s side will surely be in the run-in for the Premier League title, let alone top four.

Team News

Everton:

Lucas Digne and Alex Iwobi are in line to make their Premier League returns after injury, a major boost for Everton.

Another major plus for Ancelotti is the return to fitness and goalscoring form of Dominic Calvert-Lewin who netted in their comfortable 3-0 FA Cup fourth round triumph over Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.

Brazillian Allan and Fabian Delph remain on the sidelines, as well long-term absentee Jean-Phillipe Gbamin.

Leicester City:

Brendan Rodgers will be without his leading marksman Jamie Vardy for the foreseeable future, but recent surgery on the striker’s hip suggests he will only be out for a couple weeks.

Kelechi Iheanacho will be the obvious choice to fill-in for Vardy, or Rodgers could stick with Ayoze Perez who started the win at Brentford in the FA Cup as the lone frontman.

Rodgers’ injury list is otherwise clearing up, with Ricardo Pereira and Caglar Soyuncu among those back in contention.
