FC Bayern are aiming to maintain their top spot in the Bundesliga against SC Freiburg, following their 2-1 win against Copenhagen in the Champions League. The German champions have not suffered a defeat in 23 home games against Freiburg, but Munich should be cautious as they lost 2-1 to Breisgau in the DFB Cup quarter-finals last season. Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel said: “We’re aware of the difficulty of the task. Freiburg switch their formation very frequently (…).”

On Freiburg’s side, striker Michael Gregoritsch is recovering from a calf injury and Nicolas Hoefler is suspended following a red card back in September.
It will be an interesting clash between Champions League and Europa League participants, although Bayern are favoured to win this match. After Freiburg’s loss in the Europa League against West Ham United on Thursday, it is important for Freiburg to use their opportunity to bounce back.
