Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo were influential to Brentford continuing their remarkable, unbeaten, home form in the Premier League this season. Coming from behind twice to sink in-form Bournemouth in a topsy-turvy clash.
The Bees now boast the best home record in the division, collecting 16 out of 18 points. The only side in Europe’s top five leagues to attain more is the current European Champions Real Madrid (18). Unbeaten in all home fixtures so far this season Thomas Frank will be eager to see this record continue into the new year – only matched by Arsenal, Brighton, and Manchester City.

Bournemouth came into this fixture off the back of defeating Arsenal and Champions Man City – Iraola’s side beaming with confidence. Sepp Van Den Berg’s sloppy backpass was picked up by Evanilson to open the lead. Ten minutes later a routine long throw by Mathias Jensen led to an aerial pinball with Wissa perfectly poised to head home and level the score.
Motivated to maintain their unbeaten home form the bees carried on their momentum. An unexpected but perfected corner routine restored Bournemouth’s lead – a lead which only lasted 1 minute and 20 seconds. Eight minutes later, a beautiful bit of play down the left wing saw Vitaly Janelt and Keane Lewis-Potter combined to tee up Wissa who bagged his brace and all three points for Brentford.
Sitting only three points off Chelsea in third, the West London outfit will look to improve their performances away from home. Their flattering home form is undermined by the zero points they have picked up on their travels, with Goodison Park awaiting them next this result gives them the platform to try to grab their first point on the road this season.

This is heavily down to the dynamic duo of Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo, with a combined 15 Premier League goals already this season.
Mbeumo’s streak of scoring in consecutive home games came to an end against Bournemouth. His presence did not go unnoticed playing a key role in the build-up to Wissa’s first goal; Mikkel Damsgaard scored his first Premier League goal in fine fashion latching onto the Cameroonian’s cute ball into the 6-yard box which the Dane drilled in at the near post.
Wissa has been the Bees knight in shining armour filling in for the absent club-record signing Igor Thiago and the void Ivan Toney left when he departed the club in the summer. The Congolese international has scored two match-winning goals alongside two braces at home, driving his side’s exceptional form. His ruthless form alone is a stand-out amongst Premier League players with his goals-per-minute ratio (81.14) superseding back-to-back Golden Boot winner Erling Haaland’s (82.5)— courtesy of Fbref.com
