France will look to consolidate top spot in Group D when they take on Denmark in their second game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. 

The holders currently have three points after their 4-1 win over Australia on Matchday 1 while Denmark has 1 point following their 0-0 stalemate against Tunisia. A win for France will confirm passage into the last 16 for them.  

France will come into the game without Lucas Hernandez after the full-back was ruled out of the tournament with a ruptured ACL in his right knee.

The French played out a goalless draw against the Danes when they last met at a World Cup four years ago in Russia. 

Since then, Denmark have beaten Didier Deschamps’ men twice in the latest edition of the UEFA Nations League. 

It should be noted that France played Denmark on the way to both of their World Cup triumphs in 1998 and 2018. Les Bleus could see them as a lucky charm ahead of today’s clash at Stadium 974.
