The teenager struck the ball from outside the box and ended up in the back of the net after Derby County keeper David Marshall spilled the ball.
This mishap ended up being his last as an injury forced the Scottish international to be replaced by Dutchman, Kelle Roos. Although, this change almost resulted in another goal for Forest. Roos spilled the ball after another Garner shot, but he was able to makes amends quickly for his blunder to keep the score line at 0-1.
For much of the second half it was a fairly tame affair until Colin Kazim-Richards scored in the 84th minute, with a sumptuous half volley. The equaliser appeared to wake the teams up with both sides pushing for a winner. This was to no avail despite, Lee Gregory coming close for the Rams and Filip Krovinovic for Forest.
The result sees Derby County slowly creep away from the relegation places and now five consecutive games without defeat at Pride Park. Meanwhile, with Forest dropping two points a chance of pushing for the play offs takes a blow. However, positives can be taken from the week with seven of nine points being claimed by the men in red.
