Despite an impressive two goal comeback from West Ham in the second half, Fran Kirby scored the ultimate winner to give Brighton all three points in five goal thriller at the Amex.
The seagulls broke the deadlock in the 29th minute, after a lovely bit of play through the middle of the pitch. Fran Kirby cleverly flicked the ball to Rachel McLauchlan, who slotted it home. The first half saw Brighton utilize their fullbacks, Poppy Pattinson and Rachel McLauchlan, pushing them into the middle of the pitch and creating chances through the lines.
West Ham launched an impressive comeback in the second half, scoring two goals in five minutes. Brighton went 2-0 up with a goal moment before, with a goal from Kiko Seike, assisted by McLaughlan. After a few missed chances, West Ham captain, Katrina Gorry responded with a lovely strike to close the gap. Gorry struck once again, to even the score line but soon went off injured. Manuela Pavi missed a golden chance to even the score line in front goal, firing her attempt straight at Brighton goalkeeper, Sophie Baggaley.
Brighton claimed victory in the 82nd second minute through a class Fran Kirby strike, giving Brighton three points and third place in the table.
