RESULTS & TABLE

Valladolid 1-1 Levante:

Campaña equalised the score from the penalty spot after a greader header from Marcos André which gave Valladolid momentarily the lead.

Levante gets a point out of what has been another poor performance from the team. It is also their fifth 1-1 in a row meaning that conceding one goal each game implies Levante scoring at least two goals per game.

Valladolid is the team who gets the best outcome out of this draw. There is still a two-point difference between Valladolid and relegation as Levante stands 19th on the table.

Elche 1-1 Cádiz:

Both teams promoted to La Liga this year are proving everyone wrong. Cadiz standing in Europa League positions and Elche only two points away from it.

Lucas Boye was Elche´s hero and enemy. He took the lead for his team five minutes before the ending of the first half and then sent off in the 45th minute leaving his team with only 10 men. This resulted in Osasuna dominating the second half and equalising the game.

Valencia 0-1 Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid are serious contenders to win La Liga as in only two weeks they have beaten Barcelona and Valencia.

The key to the success to each game is Simeone´s mentality, his team plays way more offensive and keeps looking to extend the score instead of settling for a win by the minimum.

Atletico Madrid dominated every single moment of the game and found their reward at the end of the game in an unfortunate play which concluded on Toni Lato scoring an own goal with ten minutes remaining.

Simeone´s team are right now joint leaders with Real Sociedad but with one game on hand.

Huesca 0-1 Sevilla

11 games into the season and Huesca have not won yet a single game. Despite battling each game, they are not able to finish their opponents. On the other hand, Sevilla´s win makes them escalate to the fifth position with one game in hand.

En-Nesyri came out from the bench and his goal in the 83rd allowed Sevilla to sum up three more points. It wasn´t Sevilla´s best game of the season.

Real Madrid 1-2 Alavés

What a catastrophe for Zidane. Another game where Madrid struggle to score goals and end the game with a clean-sheet. An unlucky action from Nacho and a childish mistake from Courtois led Alavés to have a two-goal difference. A late goal from Casemiro gave some hope and with the game about to end, Isco hit the crossbar.

Real Madrid performance declines as days pass and are now fourth, seven points away from the leader and their next two game are against Sevilla and Atletico Madrid

Barcelona 4-0 Osasuna

Outstanding way to pay tribute to Maradona.

Barcelona needed a game like this where the opponents suppose no threat. Barcelona finished the game with positive conclusions such as Griezmann and Messi back to scoring.

Good game from los cules who jump to Europa League positions with a game in hand whilst Osasuna´s last win was back in October against Athletic Bilbao and drop down to the 16th only one point away from relegation.

A special mention to Messi for his own tribute to Maradona. The Argentinian scored and took his Barcelona shirt to show the shirt he was wearing underneath, a Newell´s shirt from 1993 worn by Maradona as he played there for one year.

Getafe 1-1 Athletic Bilbao

Getafe are in a bad run as they have not one since they beat Barcelona a month ago. On the other hand, Bilbao took that point very happily as it had as a consequence climbing up a couple of position in the table.

The injuries of Yuri and Damián, the worst news for their coaches, especially for Bordalás as it is there are a couple of defenders injured already.

Celta 3-1 Granada

This is the first win for Coudet as a Celta manager. Granada witnessed Celta´s best performance so far in this season with an outstanding game giving out assists as if he was playing against kindergarten children.

Celta are a step closer from getting out of relegation places, tied in points with Valladolid who is the team above the relegation positions. Next week they will have a chance to get out of hell against Bilbao.

Real Sociedad 1-1 Villarreal

Two contenders to win La Liga tied in a tough game where Gerard Moreno scored a penalty five minutes into the game. Villarreal had their chances to extend the score. However, Villarreal gave away a penalty and the executor of the maximum penalty was Mikel Oyarzabal, who does not know the failure from eleven meters. Jump before hitting and goal for Real Sociedad. Sergio Asenjo dived to the right side of the goal , but could not prevent the ball from entering his goal.

Real Sociedad are momentarily La Liga leaders and will try to keep it like that one more week as the play against Alaves. Meanwhile, Villarreal climb to the third position as Real Madrid failed to win and will defend their postion next week against Elche.

Betis 0-2 Eibar

Deserved win for Eibar as they converted their chances against a team who have massive problems at the back.  Eibar scored both of their goals in a short period of time. Mendilibar´s team are one of the strongest teams when they play away. 10 points out of 13. Next week they will try and win their first home game of the season against Valencia

Betis on the other side, have conceded another. Pellegrini’s team is already giving off that feeling so characteristic of the last seasons and that it can become even harder if it is not remedied soon. Five losses in the last six games. Seven in eleven games. Betis have a chance to redeem themselves against Osasuna next week.
