Wycombe will face a confident Fleetwood side when they travel over 200 miles to Highbury Stadium this weekend.
After enduring a terrible 6 game losing run in the league, Fleetwood Town look reinvigorated under new manager Lee Johnson. The former Sunderland boss has led The Cod Army to two straight wins against Leyton Orient and Cheltenham Town, keeping a clean sheet in both. A win against Wycombe would send them out of the relegation zone for the first time this season. In his press conference, Johnson noted the strengths of their opposition in the form of Sam Vokes, but reinforced his belief in his side, saying “we do have the right ‘clubs in the bag’ so to speak to cope with them.”
Meanwhile, The Chairboys will be looking to rectify their away form after suffering two losses in a row on the road. A win against Fleetwood could see them enter the play-off places if other results go their way. Wycombe have no injury concerns of note, and will aim to put out a strong starting 11.
The last time these sides met, Wycombe ran out comfortable winners in a 2-0 win at Adams Park, with the victory marking Matt Bloomfield’s first win as Wycombe manager.
