Hello my name is Thomas Davies-Crisp and I will be taking you through this top of the table clash between unstoppable Bayer Leverkusen and giants Bayern Munich.
Leverkusen are yet to lose a game this whole season under Xabi Alonso, compared to a stuttering Bayern Munich who under Thomas Tuchel have struggled and find themselves chasing Leverkusen after winning 11 Bundesliga titles in a row.
Here are how both teams line up:
′ We have a slight delay due to fans throwing objects on the pitch
′ And Bayern Munich get us underway kicking right to left
′ A slow start to the game with possession changing multiple times in the first few minutes.
′ Jamal Musiala tires to dribble his way through the Leverkusen defenders in the box but just as he was getting somewhere he loses possession and Leverkusen reset.
′ Eric Dier receives the ball and is closed down very quickly but he clears it before Florian Wirtz steals the ball from him
′ First chance goes to Leverkusen, Nathan Tella works his way forward and lays it off to Amine Adli who’s strike is a comfortable save for Manuel Neuer
′ First chance to Bayern Munich falls to Leon Goretzka, Harry Kane plays the ball to him on the edge of the box but he leans back to far and his shot flies over
′ Noussair Mazraoui disposes Alex Grimaldo much to the fans dislike as he drives forward, tries to put in a cross but it’s cleared but Jonathon Tah
′ WHAT A CHANCE. Wirtz plays in Adli who is destined to score but is thwarted by Neuer and the ball is cleared.
′ GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL. What a huge goal that is and it falls to Bayer Leverkusen, and it’s scored by the Bayern Munich loanee Josip Stanisic after Robert Andrich plays the ball across the goal where it was met by Stanisic to tap in. Leverkusen now go 5 points clear at the top.
′ It’s all Leverkusen now, another chance falls to Leverkusen, a diagonal ball is played over the top and is met by Tella, is well saved by Neuer and the follow up from Wirtz is blocked for a corner
′ CHANCE. Tah’s header is a powerful one but is saved by Neuer and goes out for another corner
′ A tame effort from Mazraoui where his shot trickles into the hands of Lukas Hradecky
′ Free kick here for Leverkusen in a dangerous position for Grimaldo to whip in
′ However it leads to a Bayern Munich foul
′ Granit Xhaka has gone down with an injury and there’s now a break in play as he gets treatment
′ He is walking off to the side line as he looks to be ok to continue in the game, as to much relief from the Leverkusen crowd.
′ First yellow of the game falls to Sacha Boey as he crunches into Andrich, this also gives Leverkusen a great chance to cross the ball in
′ The ball bounces around in the box but falls to Neuer and Bayern survive
′ Piero Hincapie finds himself with the ball on the edge of the box, his shot is fired goalwards but continues to rise and doesn’t trouble Neuer
′ WHAT A TACKLE. Xhaka plays Adli in on goal and only has Neuer to beat but out of nowhere Dayot Upamecano sticks a leg in from behind and snatches the ball away from Adli miraculously
′ There will be two minutes added on in the first half
And the referee blows for half time. A perfect half for Bayer Leverkusen, after a shaky start they’ve been dominant since the goal and look like the side to score the second goal in this game
′ And we are back underway for the second half, can Bayern Munich get back into this or will Bayer Leverkusen extend their goal advantage?
′ Like the first half, it’s a slow start from both teams to begin the second half
′ GOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLL. IT’S TWO FOR BAYER LEVERKUSEN. Bayer work their way forward with Grimaldo who plays a one two with Tella and has an acute angle to score but has no problem with it as he slots it past Neuer to make it 2-0 and put Leverkusen two up. Bayern Munich have a mountain to climb.
′ The early signs since the goal are identical as Leverkusen’s first, they are now in complete control of the game
′ Thomas Muller looks to be coming on for Bayern Munich
′ Tella take on Kim Min Jae but his shot is drilled low and hard but an easy save for Neuer
′ Two changes for Bayern Munich, Upamecano and Aleksander Pavlovic make way for Muller and Joshua Kimmich
′ Second yellow of the game falls to Goretzka pushing Adli down
′ Corner for Leverkusen, can they make anything of this?
′ OH MY WORD. What an effort from Grimaldo who shoots from the corner and almost catches out Neiur
′ Third yellow, this time to Edmond Tapsoba who stops the rampant Musiala on an attack
′ Tella runs in on goal and shoots into the side netting butr it was offside, big let off for Bayern Munich
′ And that was Tella’s last contribution of the game as he makes way for Jeremy Frimpong
′ Leory Sane tries to spin his way through the Leverkusen defence but he’s challenged and goes out for a Bayern Munich corner
′ Stanisic gets there just in time as Musiala was running on to the ball which would of been set up perfectly to strike it goalwards
′ In the last 20 minutes Bayern Munich have failed to register a shot
′ Mathys Tel comes on for Bayern Munich as he replaces Goretzka
′ Leverkusen work there way along Bayern’s box and it falls to Frimpong on the right hand side and fires a shot just wide of the far post
′ Fourth yellow of the game falls to Adli as he clips Kim
′ Two more changes looks to around the corner for Bayern Munich as well as one for Leverkusen
′ Eric Choupo Moting and Raphael Guerrio come on for Musiala and Boey
′ Adli makes way for Jonas Hoffman
′ Fifth booking goes to Hradecky for time wasting
′ Kane jumps to try and meet the ball crossed in but fails to make any contact, I completely forgot he was playing
′ SO CLOSE. Stanisic runs forward with Frimpong to his right, he kays it off and Frimpong’s shot hits the post
′ Two more changes for Leverkusen as Wirtz and Grimaldo make way for Gustavo Puerta and Adam Hlozek
′ Five additional minutes to be added on here
+5′ OH MY WORD FRIMPONGGGGGGGG. WHAT A GOAL. It comes from Bayern’s corner, Neuer was up and Leverkusen counter with Frimpong, he breaks Guerrio’s ankles and shoots from 35-40 yards into an empty net. 3-0 GAME OVER, and is that title over for Bayern Munich?
Full Time: A scintillating performance from Bayer Leverkusen who were far too good for a very poor Bayern Munich side who offered absolutory nothing in attack and defence. If they can keep playing like that then Leverkusen will surely win the Bundesliga that would be long overdue for them.
