Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was full of praise for his Manchester United side as they made it two wins from two in Group H of the Champions League as they beat RB Leipzig 5-0 at Old Trafford.
Mason Greenwood opened the scoring with his first shot and goal in the Champions League. Solskjaer said Greenwood is “so efficient in front of goal” and also hailed him as a “great finisher”.
Solskjaer said his side had to “really dig deep and work hard for each other” as RB Leipzig grew more into the game at the end of the first half. Solskjaer also commended the “great spirit” of the performance throughout.
United pulled away from Leipzig late on, scoring four in the last 15 minutes. Substitute Marcus Rashford grabbed three of the goals to become only the second player in United history to score a hat-trick after coming off the bench.

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann, left frustrated with his sides collapse, said the “second half started well”. After United added their second he described the remainder of the game as “crazy”, stating “we didn’t defend anymore.”
Nagelsmann was very critical of his side going forward after they only managed two shots on target all game. The German said “our ball possession and creating chances in the final third was not good”.
