Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be looking to make it back to back wins against their Anfield rivals in all competitions for the first time since the 2015/16 season amid a suspected hostile atmosphere outside the ground, with Anti-Glazer protests planned ahead of the match.

A victory for the hosts would not only be their first win over Liverpool for three years in the league, but it would also confirm United’s Champions League qualification for next season, something that Liverpool look set to miss out on should they be beaten.

The visitors are currently seven points behind Chelsea in fourth, after their victory against Fulham on Saturday, and know they need to win to keep up the pressure as their measly title defence rolls to a conclusion, with Manchester City set to be crowned champions should Liverpool win.

After United’s second half performance seemingly put their Europa League semi-final tie against Roma to bed, expect a change of mentality, with victory against their bitter rivals only making the week better for the United faithful.

Team News

Dean Henderson is expecting to return in goal after David De Gea played against Roma. Harry Maguire is set to break Gary Pallister’s record by completing 90 minutes in 72 consecutive Premier League games.

Nat Phillips is a major doubt due to injury with Fabinho expected to slot in at centre back again as Jurgen Klopp’s defensive issues show no signs of letting up.
