Manchester United welcome bottom-placed Norwich City at Old Trafford as hopes to secure a spot for next season’s UEFA champions league fade away.

Manchester United has won just one of their last five Premier League fixtures (D2 L2). They lost 1-0 to a struggling Everton side away from home in their previous league outing. Norwich is fresh off a 2-0 win against Burnley in their last game before being winless in the last eight (D2 L6).

Norwich has just won five Premier League games all season. However, their previous four victories came in slots of two consecutive victories, one home and one away both times.

United has won 12 of their last 15 games (L3) against Norwich, winning their previous four on the trot. United has lost two of their last four home Premier League games against sides starting the day at the bottom of the table.

Norwich manager Dean Smith won 1-0 with Aston Villa at Old Trafford earlier this season. No manager has managed to win with two different clubs away to Man United in a single campaign in the previous seven such instances.

Cristiano Ronaldo has lost seven out of his 25 Premier League games this season. Only twice he has lost more league games in a single top-flight campaign, in 2002-03 with Sporting CP(8) and 2003-04 with United(8).

Teemu Pukki scored his 20th Premier League goal for Norwich against Burnley. He is only behind Chris Sutton(33) and Grant Holt(23).

United will be without several key players, including Raphael Varane, Fred, Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani, due to injury. Norwich will miss Josh Sargent, but Billy Gilmour and Przemyslaw Placheta are both in contention to make a return.
